With the return of Big Foster to the clan, there would be all kinds of trouble happening. But this time, it seems he has changed for the better. Maybe, he’s the protagonist this season fighting the bigger fight against the Outsiders and, potentially, the Kinnah group. We don’t know Big’s intentions, but he seemed to have been heavily affected by Corinne’s house of horrors. We definitely don’t know Moregon’s intentions either and with the way that the editors have made her look, she looks like bad news.
Let’s go over tonight’s episode.
With Big back, the clan discusses what to do with him. G’win sends him to rest in Lil Foster’s bed, but he would prefer to go to his bed. He goes to his home that has been taken by the Kinnah. Moregon introduces herself, but Big dismisses them and the Kinnah leave his home.
The circle is called the next day with Big confessing he killed his mother to a shocked crowd. He knows he deserves banishment and asks the elders and G’win for mercy but will accept whatever they give him. The elders want him banished and wait for G’win’s answer. G’win said she will think about it. Hasil gets upset and confronts Big. Hasil tells him Asa is dead, which leaves Big distraught. He demands to see Asa’s grave. Big apologizes to Asa and begins to grieve. The cousins tell Big that Asa tried to kill him. Big tells them to be careful what they say about his boy.
WHAT?!?! Asa is Big’s son?! What is this? Is this a secret we all didn’t know about? What a revelation, especially since Asa and Big actually tried to kill each other.
G’win is interrupted by Moregon who apologizes for taking Big’s house. G’win confides in Moregon about her decision regarding Big. Moregon suggests killing him, but Farrells don’t kill each other. There is some sexual chemistry going on between G’win and Moregon. Maybe this is why there are no men in their camp.
Hasil is tracking for the ATV and finds the entire mountain covered with fences. He shows G’win the fences and gives his input on Big. She tells him to trust her and for Hasil to not get in any trouble. As Hasil is checking the fence, he sees the ATV being taken by the construction site people. He and his crew break into the construction site, beat up some guards, and take back their ATV.
G’win visits Big and tends to his wound. Big forgives her for what she’s done and tells her she’s the rightful bren’in. He admits that being bren’in made him worse and he’s changed now. He admits his love for her and will prove he’s worthy of her love. Big calls for every gun that they have.
Big visits Emerly and asks about the dark tales about the mountain and the natives Cherokee called it blood – blood mountain. He said there were witches and thieves called the Kinnah. Emerly has heard of these fairytales. Big fears for the clan and wanted to speak his mind to Emerly.
Moregon visits Big and they have an intense discussion about G’win’s position as bren’in. I have a feeling it was for Moregon to gauge Big and his intentions and also heed a warning to him that she’s a player in this game. Moregon tells G’win her conversation with Big – he could be trying to change or strike when you least expect it.
Big gathers all of the guns they have and present them to G’win as a token of trust. G’win is left shocked. She hides the guns in her house.
Hasil returns with the ATV and G’win sees his bruises from the fight. He tells her to trust him.
G’win visits Big and says banishment is appropriate for Big, but trusts the mountain is trying to tell her something. She shows him Elon’s necklace that came to her. G’win doesn’t trust Big, but she needs Big for what is coming from war with the Outsiders. Therefore, she probably won’t banish him.
I truly believe Big has changed, which is weird because I hated him so much last season for killing Breece. I do hope he tries to make amends with Breece’s family somehow because sure, he changed, but that doesn’t make up for what he has done to the many families he’s hurt.
Ledda hasn’t told the kids about her cancer but sees it as a sign to do the best with her time. Wade says he’ll take care of her treatment.
Hayley is on the phone with her ex-husband about their child. Wade come in at the end of the call and asks for Breece’s health insurance. She said Breece hasn’t been here long enough but changes the information so that Breece’s family qualifies for health insurance. Wade thanks her. Wade shows his house to the realtor to sell. She said she’ll try to sell it for him.
Wade is in the medical billing office getting estimates on Ledda’s potential treatments. Even with the insurance, the copay cost would be $135,000. He complains about the outrageous price. At the drug store, he gets his medicine, which also includes oxycontin for his pain (from the fall off the mountain). He hesitates but takes the prescription – and flushes it down the toilet.
As Wade is telling Ledda the plans for her treatment, Ledda tells him she won’t do the treatment. She said God has a planned for her and she’s going to not to treatment.
Sally-Ann calls the health clinic a few miles away who tells her she could come do an intake [to get rid of the baby]. She borrows her brother’s car, who still has trust issues with her. She shows up at the clinic and the doctor hands her information and said there is a 24-hour hold period. Nervous, Sally-Ann asks if there is any other option since the cost would be too much, but with the health clinics all closed, she has no other option.
Sally-Ann arrives home late to an enraged brother who finds her pregnancy test. He tries to force her out of the car. She drives away and he tells her to never come back. Hopeless, Sally-Ann looks at the bottle of bleach she bought and attempts to consume it. She throws it out and drives off into the woods crying and attempts of drive off the road. She crashes into a tree and turns to see Phelia Farrell outside of the car. She takes Phelia’s hand as they walk into the woods.
Both Ledda and Sally-Ann’s health troubles seem to reflect the times today with the rising costs of coverage, including cancer medications and birth control options. I’m glad this is being discussed, especially with Ledda making the decision to not accept treatment because of the costs it will be for her family. Hopefully, Wade is able to convince her to do treatment because I do like Ledda and how she softens Wade. Without her, he will just be an angry and bitter sheriff.
As for Sally-Ann, Phelia tends to be the representative for the mountain. So Phelia guiding Sally-Ann back to Hasil is what the mountain wants. Maybe this child could be the prophecy of a child being from both worlds.
Lil Foster is trying to break out of jail, but it’s no use. He begins banging his head on it and passes out. Lil’s bunkmate calls for the guard who finds Lil passed out on the floor and opens the gate. Lil attacks them but is quickly overpowered and tied down. Tied up, Lil speaks his native tongue to himself as a form of meditation. The guards try to taunt him, but he continues his meditation.
Poor Lil Foster. He’s honestly the most kindest person from the clan and he gets treated this way. He doesn’t belong in there and with those people. I have no clue how they are going to get him out, but they need to do it soon.
Outsiders airs Wednesdays at 9pm on WGN America.
