Nintendo revealed during the livestream presentation that the Nintendo Switch will be released on March 3, 2017 and will retail for $299.99. The system incorporates aspects of all previous Nintendo systems.
It was also revealed that the Nintendo Switch will be region free, eight Switch systems will be able to connect for local multiplayer and that Nintendo will be rolling out a subscription service on the Switch with a free trial mode in the first few months. While no information was revealed on the subscription service, it’s expected to be similar to Sony and Microsoft’s online service to play multiplayer games online.
