CES 2017: OjO scooter looks to make your trips short and sweet

I’ve never been a big fan of electric skateboards- for some reason also known as “hoverboards”- mainly due to the high risk of injury while riding them, or in some cases, by just getting on. At CES, I had a chance to check out the OjO Commuter Scooter, an electric smart scooter designed to make traveling a two-wheeler a breeze to ride, since it will not require a license to use.

The OjO Commuter Scooter is described as a bike-lane-friendly ride, with zero-emissions, that can travel up to 25 miles on a single charge, and reach a maximum speed of 20 mph. It’s great for moderate trips without needing to take an uber or a bus where it might be too far to walk. It’s powerful enough to get you up the hills that most electric bikes and skateboards may have problems with, which is especially nice if, like me, you live in an area with plenty of hills.

The OjO will take between 6-8 hours to get a full charge, which utilizes an on-board charger with hidden cord plug on the front of the scooter, allowing commuters to charge the scooter in a standard 110v wall outlet. It’s a nice sleek design that is available in a variety of colors and, most importantly, is easy to manage and ride, even for someone like me, who hasn’t really ever ridden a bicycle. The OjO will is available this month on Amazon and this Spring in stores at Best Buy for $2,000, and is a nice way to get around and even do a few errands without ever needing to warm up the car.

You can find more on the OjO scooter on the official website.
