Last year, Capcom revealed that Alex, Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Juri and Urien would be released as DLC characters in Street Fighter V. With Urien released back in September, it was speculated when Capcom would reveal the next set of DLC characters… and the wait wasn’t very long.
At the conclusion of the Red Bull Battle Grounds, it was revealed that Akuma would be making his long-awaited return with a teaser trailer. The new trailer showcases a brand new stage, which shows off a destroyed dojo which has a similar resemblance to the Mishima Dojo in Tekken 7: Fated Retribution where Akuma was added a selectable fighter.
Another thing fans have noticed is the Kanji on the back of Akuma, which reads Kami Hito, or Demi-God. This Kanji might look familiar to you if you’ve played SNK vs Capcom 2 where it shown on the back of Shin Akuma in the extra boss battle. This means Shin Akuma will appear in some form in the game, possibly as a V-Trigger or maybe even a final boss? I doubt that last one, but it would still be cool.
Information on Akuma will be revealed at the PlayStation Experience next month, where Akuma will be playable to attendees.
