With the recent reveal that Deathstroke will be in the Justice League film, many have wondered how it will affect Manu Bennett’s version of Deathstroke in Arrow. Stephen Amell has seemed to squash that thought by indicating that both the DC cinematic and television universe are separate entities, and one does not have an effect on the other.
“That’s actually something that people bring up on a regular basis, that DC has told us you can’t have or you must get rid of this character. That’s not how that works. Diane Nelson and Geoff Johns, the people at Warner Bros. on the feature side, the people at Warner Bros. on the television side are all in the business of making the best products for fans. Diane Nelson sent me a very eloquent email on why the television universe and cinematic universe should remain separate. It was befitting of someone who risen to the head of DC entertainment and it made perfect sense to me. So, just because there may or may not be a Deathstroke in the DC extended universe doesn’t mean Manu Bennett can’t exist on our show”
