The release of Microsoft’s newest racer, Forza Horizon 3, is just around the corner and gamer gear heads can’t wait to get their hands on it. The vehicle roster boasts 350+ vehicles, which is the largest yet for the Horizon series. Even though there’s so many to choose from, there’s a particular one that stands out above the rest, and that is the 2554 AMG Transport Dynamics M12S Warthog CST.
If that is a bit long for you, you may know it by it’s shortened name which is simply put, the Warthog. That’s right, the quintessential vehicle from the Halo series is making it’s way into Forza Horizon 3. Unfortunately, this is only the civilian version, so no, you won’t have a mounted gun turret and you can’t blow up your competition during a race.
If you’re thinking “Ok, this thing must be slow as hell,” you’re absolutely wrong. This baby comes stock with 720hp twin turbo V8 engine, and is built ideally for off road conditions. The same setting you’ll see in Horizon 3, as it is set in the outback of Australia.
Before you get all excited, there is a caveat to owning this beast. Anyone that has played Halo 5: Guardians or Halo: The Master Chief Collection will receive an Xbox Live message containing a free download for the vehicle. Don’t get all sad on me now, because there is opportunity to obtain the Warthog via a special #Forzathon event coming in October to Horizon 3. You can check it in action below.
Forza Horizon 3 races onto shelves September 27th (or September 23rd if you ordered the Ultimate Edition) for Xbox One and Windows 10.
