More Community cameos coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Recently, we reported that The Guardians of the Galaxy would be appearing in Avengers: Infinity War. Well, that isn’t the only ragtag group making an appearance. Keeping the new tradition alive, directors Joe and Anthony Russo told Cinemablend that there will be yet another cameo by an actor from Community in the next Avengers film just as there was in their first two Marvel projects, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War.

Of course, these cameos aren’t just a coincidence. The Russo brothers used to be producers on Community and directed several episodes of the NBC sitcom. So, fans of the show were treated to special appearances by Danny Pudi in The Winter Soldier and Jim Rash in Civil War.

When interviewed over the phone late last week in advance of Captain America: Civil War‘s Blu-ray and DVD release on September 13th, the brothers were asked about cameos in the next Avengers film.

“We’re literally in that phase of the pre-production where we start thinking about those kinds of things, and right now we’re looking for the right part to see who’s a match for the next cameo,” they responded. Although, after being pressed about the issue, they admitted, “Yeah, absolutely. We’ve got to keep the streak going.”

They didn’t mention what actor would be making the cameo, but Chevy Chase in a Marvel movie is something we all deserve. Who knows, maybe we’ll see him alongside Iron Man and Cap when Avengers: Infinity War comes out in 2018.
