Escape Room Review: Escape Vladimir Putin’s Bunker and stop WW3

1

We here at NR were able to check out the escape room presented by 60out Escape Rooms called P.U.T.I.N. Bunker out in Hollywood. The room is based off fictional scenario where Vladimir Putin has ordered a missile launch that will plunge the world into World War 3. You and your friends are all that stand between him and a global catastrophe. Together you must sift through all the clues in Putin’s underground bunker and uncover the secret code to stop the launch.

This was my first time at 60out Escape Rooms. That being said, they had some of the highest production value I’ve ever seen. The room setting mirrored that of an actual bunker. There was a large TV in the room with a countdown clock that was attached to a joystick with command key dock. Around the room were various items that fit the theme and corresponded well with the puzzles.

Now I have done numerous escape rooms with Nerd Reactor, but I have to say that this one by far was one of the hardest. Not in the sense that puzzles were unclear, but they do require you to think outside the box. Once we were able to figure out just how the puzzled worked, we immediately felt stupid for not seeing the pattern before. Once we got the ball rolling, a few of the others just fell in line.

There were a few that we needed help on, and luckily we were given a radio before hand. On the other side of the Walkie Talkie was our Russian comrade who was ready and willing to help us anytime we got stuck. I loved this aspect of the room. I’m not entirely sure if it will always be the same guy for everyone, but whomever we got was hilarious. He even responded to question when we didn’t press down the button to talk, so keep in mind that the rooms have hidden mics.

I don’t want to go into too many details about the puzzles, but I will say that once we completed them, they had some of the best special effects I’ve seen in a room. What can I say, I’m a sucker for an automatic door, flashing lights and secret compartments. The special effects always seem to make solving the puzzles that much more sweet, and trust me when I say this, the room has of a lot them.

We were able to escape and stop the world from exploding, but I couldn’t help but feel that if it weren’t for the hints, we would have failed miserably. I only wished, like the other escape rooms, that we only had a limited number of hints rather than always having our comrade to count on every time we got stuck. Still, it was a great experience and I can’t wait to see what else 60out Escape Rooms cooks up next.

You can find details about the P.U.T.I.N. Bunker and other 60out Escape Rooms here.
