The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Night School‘s Kevin Hart and Universal Pictures will be teaming up again for the upcoming dramedy Bye Bye Bye along with production company CJ Entertainment.

The film, which is penned by Insecure writer-producer Amy Aniobi with no director currently set and is a remake of the acclaimed 2011 Korean dramedy Sunny, will follow a group of adult friends who reunite for the first time in 20 years since their high school graduation.

“Amy is an incredible writer who has put a fun spin on the classic mother-daughter story that will make you want to laugh and cry,” said Hart in a statement. “We are so thrilled to work with her, Universal and CJ Entertainment on Bye Bye Bye. Universal continues to be a fantastic partner, and CJ Entertainment is the premiere media company in South Korea. Plus, they’ve promised to help me achieve my life-long dream of becoming a Kpop Star.”

Hart will produce with his business partner John Cheng through their banner Heartbeat Productions while Francis Chung, CJ’s VP of Global Co-Productions and Head of U.S. Production, will produce and CJ’s Head of International, Jerry Ko will executive produce. The project will be overseen by Kristin Lowe for Universal, Cheng for Heartbeat and Fred Lee and Jihyun Ok for CJ.

The 39-year-old comedian has worked with the studio on numerous hits, going all the way back to his cameo in the acclaimed 2005 comedy The 40-Year-Old Virgin, along with lead roles in the 2014 box office hit Ride Along and its 2016 sequel, the 2016 animated smash The Secret Life of Pets and this year’s Night School.

Aniboi has been making a big splash in the comedy industry for the past five years, having served as an executive producer on the HBO special of the hit podcast 2 Dope Queens, as well as the acclaimed comedy Insecure for the cable network and a story editor on Silicon Valley.
