Watch the brand new teaser trailer for Shenmue III
Back at 2015’s Sony E3 presentation, we learned that developer Ys Net was getting ready to bring us Shenmue III. The catch was that it was going to be funded through Kickstarter. The campaign was successful (it raised more than $6 million), but we haven’t heard much from Ys Net since then. Last week however, the news that Deep Silver will be publishing Shenmue III hit the web. The publishing deal includes both the physical and digital copies of the game, which will be playable on PC and the Playstation 4. Today, PlayStation released the first teaser trailer for Shenmue III, which you can watch in the player below.
The official Kickstarter (which is obviously closed to donations now) has some info on the first games, and what we should expect from Shenmue III: “Making his way from Japan to China on a quest to avenge his father, Ryo Hazuki grows from boy to man, encountering new friends, and foes alike, as he completes his Kung-fu training. Shenmue 3 is the true sequel to the classic open world action RPG games, Shenmue and Shenmue 2. Created for modern platforms (PC and PlayStation 4) and built in Unreal 4, Shenmue 3 will continue the legacy of Shenmue. Shenmue 3 will have familiar elements from its predecessors and new fight mechanics to achieve a new level of interactive storytelling…Our ambition is to deliver a Shenmue experience that will draw in newcomers to the series and reward diehard fans with its deep story and rich gameplay.” Shenmue III is expected to be available in the second half of 2018, according to the Deep Silver official website.
