The series, which is being written by Dallas Jackson based on Derrick Parker and Matt Diehl’s novel Notorious C.O.P.: The Inside Story of the Tupac, Biggie, and Jam Master Jay Investigations from NYPD’s First ‘Hip-Hop Cop, will center on Parker (T.I.) and chronicle some of his work on the biggest criminal cases in rap history, from the shooting at Club New York to the first shooting of Tupac Shakur.

Jackson is set to executive produce the series via his G Unit Film & Television banner with Dallas Jackson alongside T.I. through his Grand Hustle Entertainment, Brian Sher and Tom Sullivan. Though not currently set to star in the project, Jackson has generally appeared in his series in either recurring or guest appearances, leaving the possibility open of him appearing.

The series will be produced by CBS TV Studios and Lionsgate TV, where 50 Cent has a mega first-look deal with the studio. The 45-year-old producer and musician took to Instagram to announce the news of the new project.
