The renewal for the series comes on the heels of the announcement that Barris was in talks with the streaming platform and Pharrell Williams to develop a Juneteenth musical for Netflix, as well as the announcement that the platform had chosen to cancel the sketch comedy Astronomy Club: The Sketch Show, on which the 45-year-old Black-ish creator was a producer.

With new money comes expensive tastes, Kenya Barris and his family navigate success and explore the struggles of being unapologetically Black and wealthy.

Additional cast includes Iman Benson, Genneya Walton, Scarlet Spencer, Justin Claiborne, Ravi Cabot-Conyers and Richard Gardenhire Jr.
