Head of the Class reboot gets pilot at HBO Max
According to Deadline, the classic 1986 ABS comedy series Head of the Class is getting the remake treatment courtesy of HBO Max. The streaming platform has ordered a pilot and five additional scripts for a half-hour multi-camera comedy based on the original show.

American Vandal writers Amy Pocha and Seth Cohen will pen the pilot and will serve as executive producers and co-showrunners along with Uncle Buck creators Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley.
Per the report, the reimagined series, “revolves around a group of overachieving high school students who meet their greatest challenge — a teacher who wants them to focus less on grades and more on experiencing life.”

Head of the Class ran from 1986 to 1991 and followed a group of students a Millard Fillmore High School in Manhattan and their experiences with history teacher Charlie Moore, played by Howard Hesseman.
