Bad Trip: Netflix nabs rights to the Tiffany Haddish-led comedy movie
Netflix has announced that they’ve successfully acquired the worldwide rights to Orion Pictures’ forthcoming hidden-camera prank comedy film Bad Trip. However, the streaming service hasn’t yet revealed the new premiere date for the Tiffany Haddish-led comedy. This announcement comes after the film was briefly leaked through Amazon Prime Video.

As theaters around the world continue to close down due to the ongoing global pandemic, major studios have ultimately decided to give early VOD releases to their new films including: Blumhouse’s The Hunt and Invisible Man; Warner Bros.’ Birds of Prey and Scoob!; Sony’s Bloodshot: Lionsgate’s I Still Believe; 20th Century Studios’ Call of the Wild; Universal’s Trolls World Tour; and Disney’s Artemis Fowl.

From the producer of Jackass and Bad Grandpa, Bad Trip is a hidden camera comedy which follows two best friends who go on a cross-country road trip full of hilarious, inventive pranks, pulling its real-life audience into the mayhem. The film will be led by Eric Andre (The Eric Andre Show, The Lion King), Lil Rel Howery (Uncle Drew, Get Out), and Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip, Night School).
Bad Trip is directed by Kitao Sakurai (The Eric Andre Show) from the minds of Dan Curry, Kitao Sakurai, and Eric Andre. The movie is produced by Jeff Tremaine, Dave Bernad, and Ruben Fleischer.

The film was originally supposed to have its world premiere at the cancelled 2020 SXSW Film Festival and was previously set for a theatrical release.
