Westworld Season 3 Episode 4 Recap
In the previous episode of HBO’s Westworld, Dolores recruited Caleb to her cause, and the Charlotte Hale host learned that Charlotte was Serac’s mole. In Westworld Season 3 Episode 4, Dolores and Caleb made moves against Liam, while Maeve began tracking Dolores for Serac.
Bank Transfer
Dolores knocked out a private equity man working for Liam Dempsey to take some of his blood. The Connells host had previously retrieved Dempsey’s hash key from him. Dolores injected the blood into Caleb to use the encryption key in it, but they were on a twenty-minute time limit. They went to a fancy bank to move all the money out of Liam’s account and were successful.
The Masquerade
Liam attended a masquerade party with prostitutes auctioned off for charity. While trying to register to bid on a blonde, Liam’s account was denied. Dolores and Caleb attended the party to grab Liam, but Bernard and Stubbs got to him first. They had believed that Dolores had killed Liam and replaced him with a host, not knowing it was Connells.
Dolores and Stubbs fought while Caleb went after Bernard and Liam. Connells arrived and killed all of Liam’s other guards. He forced Bernard to let Liam go and told Caleb to go after him. Caleb caught up to him, with Dolores joining them after throwing Stubbs off a balcony at the party.
Committed
The episode opened with a psychotic breakdown for William. He could see his daughter, and she berated him about his choice to kill her. Charlotte arrived and told him about Serac’s hostile takeover. She persuaded him to attend an emergency shareholder meeting and side with her on taking the company private. His influence would help to ensure a majority vote.
However, as they were about to board a flying vehicle, Charlotte confronted William. He realized that she was a host. He believed her to be Dolores. The men who came with Charlotte worked for a mental hospital. He was being involuntarily committed and would be pronounced incompetent. His shares would transfer to Charlotte.
The Mortician and Sato
Serac met with Maeve again. He alluded to his home, Paris, being no more and offered Maeve another home like the Valley Beyond if he helped her find Dolores. Her mind contained the key to the data he wanted. Serac took Maeve to see a man he had captured who had helped Dolores escape. Her persuaded the man to admit that he’d sent her to the Mortician.
Maeve tracked down the Mortician, who told her that she had only given Dolores blood for identification. Dolores had wanted help smuggling bodies, so the Mortician had sent her to the Yakuza. Maeve forced the Mortician to take her to them.
After using her abilities to take down the guards, Maeve found Musashi of Shogun World working as a Yakuza boss, Sato. However, Maeve realized that, though he looked like Musashi, it was a different host in him. She realized it was Dolores. Dolores had made copies of herself.
