Netflix has released the official trailer for their newest true crime documentary series titled The Innocence Files, featuring untold stories of eight wrongfully convicted victims as they fight for their freedom. The 9-episode series will be available for streaming on April 15. Check out the video in the player below!

Through the lens of The Evidence, The Witness and The Prosecution, The Innocence Files shines a powerful light on the untold personal stories behind eight cases of wrongful conviction that the nonprofit organization the Innocence Project and organizations within the Innocence Network have uncovered and worked tirelessly to overturn. The first episode will introduce us to Levon Brooks, who was sentenced to life in prison during the late 90s’ when he was accused of sexually assaulting murdering a 3 year-old girl in Mississippi. The seven other wrongfully convicted victims are Chester Hollman III, Kenneth Wyniemko, Alfred Dewayne Brown, Thomas Haynesworth, Franky Carrillo, Kennedy Brewer, and Keith Harward.

The Innocence Network is an association of consists of 67 organizations from all over the world, who are providing pro bono legal and investigative services to individuals seeking to prove innocence of crimes for which they have been convicted, and working to redress the causes of wrongful convictions.

The Innocence Files is executive produced and directed by Academy Award nominee Liz Garbus along with Oscar winners Alex Gibney and Roger Ross Williams. The series’ directing lineup also features Academy Award nominee Jed Rothstein, Emmy winner Andy Grieve and Sarah Dowland.
