The Ice Beneath Her: Daisy Ridley in Talks to Star in STX Thriller

Deadline is reporting that Daisy Ridley (Star Wars franchise) is currently in talks to star in STX’s psychological crime-thriller The Ice Beneath Her. STX acquired the worldwide rights to the film and is financing the project.

The movie is based on Camilla Grebe’s bestselling 2015 novel, featuring an unreliable narrator and described as being similar in tone to Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train. The Ice Beneath Her revolves around a detective and psychological profiler who work to solve the case after a young woman is found beheaded in the home of a prominent businessman. The investigation quickly evolves into a race against time.

Filmmaker trio Radio Silence (Ready or Not) will direct and produce the film from the adapted screenplay by Caitlin Parrish (Supergirl, The Red Line).

Drew Simon, Kevin Sauer, and Sam Brown will oversee the project for STX. Radio Silence consists of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, and Chad Villella.
