Stephen Amell turns down possibility of returning to the Arrowverse

It has already been more than a month since fans had said their final goodbyes to Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen/ Green Arrow in the series finale of The CW’s Arrow. But, long-time fans are still not over the show’s ending and are hoping that Amell could be able to reprise his iconic role in future Arrowverse crossovers or in the upcoming Green Arrow and the Canaries spinoff.

That’s why in a recent Instagram live, Amell had finally addressed his possible return when a fan asked if he’ll ever appear on any of The CW’s current Arrowverse series. However, he immediately crushed Arrow fans’ hopes by confessing that he’s definitely done with the Green Arrow.

“No, I’m done,” Amell said (via EW). “That was good. It was a good eight years but it was time to be done.”

He added, “It was actually really, really weird to watch The CW again. It was weird seeing promos for Supergirl and Flash and Batwoman again. It seems like a different lifetime. I don’t think I’ll be doing that again.”

The CW had also announced that they’re developing a new spinoff titled Green Arrow & the Canaries, which will be starring Katherine McNamara as Mia Smoak,  the only daughter of Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak who is set to take on the mantle of the Green Arrow from her father. Arrow showrunner Beth Schwartz will co-write the episode with Arrow co-creator Marc Guggenheim and Jill Blankenship & Oscar Balderrama.
