Mark Ruffalo confirms he’s in talks to join Disney+’s She-Hulk

During a recent appearance at the 2020 Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (via Laughing Place), Golden Globe nominee Mark Ruffalo has revealed that he has already engaged in preliminary talks with Marvel Studios for his potential appearance in Disney+’s upcoming MCU series She-Hulk. Ruffalo first took on the mantle of Bruce Banner/ Hulk in 2012’s The Avengers. Since then he appeared in 6 MCU movies including last year’s highest grossing film of all time Avengers: Endgame, where Bruce Banner completely merged himself with his angry green alter ego.

Ruffalo’s revelation comes on the heels of the casting rumors that have begun circulating last week where Marvel Studios is reportedly looking for an “Alison Brie-type” actress to portray the role of Jennifer Walters. In an appearance at the The Late Late Show with James Corden which you can check out below, Golden Globe nominee Alison Brie was asked about her thoughts on the casting rumors, jokingly hinting that she may be in talks for She-Hulk.

The She-Hulk series was officially announced by Marvel’s chief creative officer Kevin Feige last year along with two other MCU shows for Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk. This marks the iconic superheroes’ live-action debut who are also expected to be featured in future MCU films.

The series will be developed and written by Jessica Gao, who is the Emmy-winning scribe behind Rick and Morty‘s acclaimed Season 3 episode “Pickle Rick.”

She-Hulk debuted in Marvel Comics’ “Savage She-Hulk” #1 in 1980, created by writer Stan Lee and artist John Buscema. Her alter ego is Jennifer Walters, the cousin of Bruce Banner/Hulk, who after being shot is provided a blood transfusion from Bruce that turns her into a similar green monster. She later became a member of the Avengers and briefly replaced Ben Grimm in The Fantastic Four.
