Discover Natalie Dormer’s Magda in Penny Dreadful: City of Angels Teaser

Showtime has released a new teaser for the upcoming Penny Dreadful: City of Angels series. Set in 1938 Los Angeles, the show will feature Game of Thrones‘ Natalie Dormer as Magda, a supernatural demon who can change her appearance every time she wants to. The latest featurette released by Showtime focuses on some of the many faces she will show in the story. The teaser features also some of the other protagonists of the show, including Daniel Zovatto’s Tiago Vega. It will be up to the young detective to solve the mysterious cases in LA before it’s too late.

The official synopsis of Penny Dreadful: City of Angels reads: “When a grisly murder shocks the city, Detective Tiago Vega (Daniel Zovatto) and his partner Lewis Michener (Nathan Lane) become embroiled in an epic story that reflects the rich history of Los Angeles: from the building of the city’s first freeways and its deep traditions of Mexican-American folklore, to the dangerous espionage actions of the Third Reich and the rise of radio evangelism. Before long, Tiago and his family are grappling with powerful forces that threaten to tear them apart.”

The cast includes Daniel Zovatto, Natalie Dormer, Kerry Bishé, Amy Madigan, Brent Spiner, Lin Shaye, Rory Kinnear (Penny Dreadful), Piper Perabo, Adam Rodriguez, Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Lorenza Izzo, Michael Gladis, Dominic Sherwood, as well as Ethan Peck (Star Trek: Discovery) and Nathan Lane as Lewis Michener, a veteran LAPD officer who is wise to the ways of the world and ruthless in pursuit of his goals.
