Escaping the City

Takeshi found Quellcrist at The Nevermore. Trepp helped smuggle her out of the city. Footage of her had been released to the public. Trepp stopped at her father’s place for supplies. While alone with Trepp, Quell asked her to shoot her with lethal ammo if she started to lose herself. Takeshi brought them to an abandoned mine that became the Stronghold to help trigger Quell’s memory. After arguing with Takeshi, Quell started to lose herself again, and Trepp tried to shoot her. Takeshi stopped her, but Quell ran off to a hidden part of the Stronghold that triggered her memories.

Jaeger spun up a backup of Takeshi in a clone of his birth sleeve. Double-sleeving was a capital crime, and Jaeger encouraged the old Takeshi to hunt the new one. They questioned Dig and went to the Stronghold. He was to kill the original Takeshi and bring back Quell’s stack. The two Takeshis fought, with the backup throwing the original off a cliff. Fortunately, his sleeve had built in survival instincts that kept him clinging for life unconsciously.

Meanwhile, the old Takeshi found Quell. He tried to convince her to trust him under Jaeger’s watch. She tricked him into following her to the place she awoke after Reileen betrayed her, under a songspire. Quell showed him what Reileen did to her.
