Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 3 Episode 1 Recap
Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is back with a new season that we will be recapping. Last season ended with Lucifer trapped in Nick’s body that Lilith carried back to hell. In the season premiere episode of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Sabrina and her friends traveled to hell on a journey reminiscent of The Wizard of Oz, while Hilda and Zelda dealt with the fall out of Father Blackwood’s disappearance.
Follow the Blood Red Road
Ms. Wardwell was alive and back at Baxter High, teaching. Inspired by Ms. Wardwell’s new obsession with Dante’s “Inferno”, Sabrina went to Dorian Gray for a portal to hell. Dorian struck a deal with Sabrina. He would provide safe passage for her and her friends to go to hell and back if she brought back the Flower of Evil from the Forest of Torment. Sabrina and her friends washed in ghastly water to hide their scent from demons and wore shoes of the dead. They came across a handsome man on the Shores of Sorrow, who told them to follow the blood red road that led to Pandemonium.
In the Fields of Witness, Theo found his uncle, Jesse Putnam, being tortured by crows on a cross. In the Forest of Torment, Roz helped Sabrina retrieve the Flower of Evil, but a tin man with an ax attacked Harvey and Theo. He had Tommy’s face, but Sabrina rusted and shot him. They found themselves at Baxter High, and Principal Harding and Nana Ruth tortured them. Lilith’s minion stopped them and invited Sabrina and her friends to a rotten dinner. Though Lilith had the crown, she was seen in hell as an illegitimate ruler and wanted Sabrina, as a Morningstar, to crown her again. In exchange, Lilith would free Nick and release Jesse to heaven.
The Three Kings of Hell disagreed and brought Caliban, a Prince of Hell made from dirt. He was the man from the Shores. Sabrina was able to communicate with Lucifer in Nick’s head. He wanted her to take the throne herself. She did so and appointed Lilith as her Regent. Lilith held up her end and kept Nick secure while she figured out another vessel to hold Lucifer. That night, carriages arrived in Greendale.
Hail Lilith
Now that Hilda and Zelda had taken in the remaining students, they returned to run the Academy. Hilda received a call from the Council, who would be visiting. She disguised herself as Father Blackwood, and she and Zelda met with the Council. They had reported their powers had reduced and lied about being to communicate with Satan. That night, Hilda and Zelda led the students in a prayer to Lilith, not Lucifer.
Blood Magick
Prudence and Ambrose had tracked Blackwood to New Orleans. However, he turned out to be one of the Judas Society members in disguise. They went to a vodou priestess, Mambo Marie, for a spell to find him. Prudence used her blood to track him to Loch Ness, Scotland.
