Producer Asks Fans to “Pepper” Disney to Make Alita Sequel Happen

Alita Army, lift up your hearts and bring out your voice. It may take a while, but the dream of an Alita: Battle Angel sequel may become reality one day… on the condition that the thousands of fans of the cyberpunk action film do as Jon Landau says. Speaking with Cinema Blend, the Alita producer gave the fans some instructions in order to make the sequel happen.

“What I think the Alita Army should do is keep peppering our family now at Disney and [let them know] how important it is to have another Alita movie and hopefully we’ll venture there one day,” Landau said.

Why should the Alita Army bother Disney? Well, the movie was produced by 20th Century Fox, which has been acquired by the House of Mouse. Then Landau said that before James Cameron stepped back from directing to producing the movie, he actually planned a trilogy for Alita’s adventures.

“When Jim [Cameron] was going to direct, which he was at point, in his mind he had plotted out two additional stories of where we would go very specifically,” Landau added.

Landau hinted en passant at the opportunity offered by streaming platforms like Disney+ and Netflix nowadays. Even though he was not committing about developing the Alita sequel on such platforms, the possibility of this happening in the future is high. After all, the movie did pretty well at the box-office, grossing over $400 million. Who knows? The stars might align in the right direction one day and fans will get what they are vocally asking for.
