Pedro Pascal Not Typically the One Donning The Mandalorian Armor

Pedro Pascal Not Typically the One Donning The Mandalorian Armor

Here’s a bit of fun trivia you can share with your friends during your next viewing of The Mandalorian. As it turns out, the show’s star, Pedro Pascal, doesn’t actually work on the show all that often. No shocker there. Hollywood productions use stand-ins all the time. However, one of the two stand ins just happens to be Brandan Wayne — grandson of the legendary John Wayne. Now, that’s something quite shocking indeed.

The news comes via Bryce Dallas Howard, who revealed to Vulture that she didn’t work with Pascal at all whilst directing a recent episode.

“He was in rehearsals for King Lear on Broadway,” Howard said. “And so, while we were doing my episode, I wasn’t working with Pedro.”

Instead, Howard worked with Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder, the former of which handled her direction with aplomb.

“[Wayne] absolutely just brought everything to that character, and we were able to find the moments and figure them out together,” Howard said.

Wayne also worked with Pascal when the actor recorded Mando’s dialogue.

“[Pascal] would ask me, and I would ask him the same question, which is, ‘Why did you move like this during that moment?’ We would go back and forth,” Wayne said. “The great thing about him is he’s not impressed with himself. He’s just an actor. And I mean that in the good way, not the bad way. He likes to learn and he likes to collaborate and he’s very good at it.”
