Harry Potter fans that have always wondered what it would be like to spend Christmas inside the Wizarding World might finally get their chance with the mobile game “Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery.” This holiday event comes from Los Angeles-based mobile games studio Jam City in partnership with Portkey Games, a division of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, which is dedicated to creating new mobile and video games set inside the Harry Potter universe.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery game is launching a “Twelve Days of Christmas at Hogwarts,” which is available today and will run until December 14. This event will feature holiday-themed side quests for players to win prizes and special outfits. As a bonus, a surprise giveaway features holiday-themed attire and in-game currency will be gifted to fans and players through the various social platforms for the game. That includes Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Fans will also get the chance to enter sweepstakes in which they can win official Harry Potter merchandise.
During the seasonal event, players will be transported to the magical world of Harry Potter. Inside this Wizarding World, players will get to experience Christmas by seeing a Hogwarts Castle bathed in snow. Inside, the Great Hall and House Common Rooms will be decorated in true Christmas spirit, with a full festive atmosphere. Players that head over to Hogsmeade will also see it decorated for the holidays. Similar to the movies, all Hogwarts students will be invited to an End-of-Term feast in the Great Hall before they depart to their homes for the Holidays.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery is the only game where true potter heads can live their wizarding fantasy, by attending the Hogwarts School. The game is a narrative RPG that opens players up to earning their rites of passage at the school, which will start them from being sorted in their first year, and will take them all the way to Year 5. Just like Harry and his friends, players will get to advance through their seven years of school, in which they’ll get to attend classes, learn spells and magic, form friends and foes, and of course, investigate a mystery.
The Twelve Days of Christmas at Hogwarts campaign is available to every fan that follows the games’ social media channels. The side quests inside the game are only open to players who have completed Year 1 Chapter 7 and beyond. Fans are encouraged to share their holiday adventure by simply using the hashtag #HPHMChristmas.
