Deadline has brought word that the upcoming thriller Till Death from Israeli filmmaker Aharon Keshales (Big Bad Wolves) has found its leads in Booksmart‘s Jason Sudeikis and Ant-Man and the Wasp‘s Evangeline Lilly.

The film, directed by the Wolves co-director and co-written by Navot Papushado and Kai Mark, follows convicted felon Jimmy as he is released from prison on early parole after serving twelve years for armed robbery. Following his release, he vows to give his childhood love Annie the best last year of her life before she succumbs to her cancer.

Till Death has been my passion project for years and it finally found a home,” said Keshales. “I came up with the idea during my honeymoon. It’s a love story. Sort of. It’s a love story that got stuck in a Sam Peckinpah action-thriller.

While Lilly found her rise to fame with more serious genre entries in ABC’s Lost and in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sudeikis is best known for his comedic efforts thanks to Saturday Night Live and the Horrible Bosses movies. This would mark his continued departure from the genre following the well-received 2017 Netflix drama Kodachrome, as well as the DeLorean biopic Driven.

The film will be produced by Cinestate and Arts District Entertainment and financed by London-based Media Finance Capital, with UPHE Content Group having acquired the world rights.

Following the acclaimed Wolves, Keshales is set to make waves alongside co-director Navot Papushado once again in the states with the upcoming action flick Gunpowder Milkshake led by Karen Gillan (Avengers: Endgame), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones) and Angela Bassett (Black Panther). The project wrapped production in August and is anticipated for a 2020 release.

Till Death will go into production in January 2020.
