Undone Episode 8 Recap
In the previous episode of Amazon’s Undone, Alma danced and leaped into a mirror to go back in time and save Jacob. In Undone Episode 8, Alma learned the truth but faced reality.
What Really Happened
Alma, with Jacob at her signed, successfully made it to that Halloween night. When Jacob was called away, they followed. Astral Jacob had assured Alma he didn’t remember anything beyond leaving to go to his office. When they arrived, Camila was tearing up Jacob’s office while Farzan tried to stop her. Camila was convinced that Jacob had taken Alma there to do experiments on her. Farzan realized the gravity of the situation; they required both parents to consent to experiments done on children. Camila wanted a divorce, and she left. He was taking Farzan home, but they got into an argument. Jacob purposely drove off the road.
Astral Jacob believed that he didn’t deserve a second chance. Alma thought she could fix it, so she wound time back to when they had arrived. Astral Jacob stepped into his body, and when the call came from Farzan, he didn’t take it. He simply continued taking Child Alma trick-or-treating.
Reality Stings
Alma woke up on the floor of the preschool. She had leaped into the mirror while at work. As Tunde was patching up the cut on her forehead, he fired her. He believed she couldn’t be trusted with the children. Alma didn’t mind; she was going to ask for time off anyway to go to Mexico. She believed that Jacob would come from a cave at the ruins where they’d once visited. Unfortunately, Sam had stalled her to give Camila time to come stop her. Sam was worried about Alma and believed she had schizophrenia.
While Alma confronted Camila with what happened the night Jacob died, she got Camila’s car keys and escaped. Alma headed across the border to Mexico.
Lazarus Rising
Alma waited and watched the cave entrance. Soon, Becca arrived and joined her. Camila called her to fly down to get her. Becca hadn’t minded leaving her honeymoon. She had told Reed about cheating on him, and his family was getting the marriage annulled. Alma told Becca everything would be all right. Once the timelines realigned, they would have a whole knew and would no longer be broken people.
They waited all night. By the morning, Becca convinced Alma that it was time to go home. As Alma got up to join her, a glowing light appeared before her.
