Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, and Laura Dern will be back together in Jurassic World 3, the upcoming film from Universal Pictures. The trio first started their adventures in the first Jurassic Park film from director Steven Spielberg. They’ll be joining Jurassic World actors Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, with Colin Trevorrow directing and filming set for early next year.
Last night during a fan screening of Battle at Big Rock, the short film by Trevorrow, Dern announced that she’ll be in the third Jurassic World film along with Goldblum and Neill. The short film screened showcases what happens when the dinosaurs are roaming in our world. With the ending of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the dinosaurs are free to roam our civilization. In the Jurassic Park universe, we first saw dinosaurs terrorizing the city in Steven Spielberg’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park. The Trex was running amok, and it ate a man in front of a Blockbuster Video store.
Goldblum, Dern, and Neill played Ian Malcolm, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Dr. Alan Grant, respectively. Goldblum had a short cameo in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and this had some fans disappointed by his short screen time. Let’s hope that the return of the trio means they’ll actually have more to do.
The film is written by Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim Uprising) from a story by Derek Connolly and Trevorrow.
