Several weeks ago, Marvel Studios rocked Hall H by announcing a ton of shows for their next phase of films. Loki, WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, What If…?, and Hawkeye are all coming to Disney’s upcoming streaming service. But Marvel Studios didn’t just stop there. During the Disney+ panel at D23 Expo, Kevin Feige announced that Ms. Marvel would be coming to the MCU with her series. Yes, the very first major Muslim superhero will be making history once again by becoming one of the first Muslim superheroes put on screen.
Now much like Moon Knight, details on the series are scarce. First, we don’t know if the series will be a part of Phase Four or in Phase Five. Once again, we don’t know who is playing the titular character or who is running the series.
However, looking at the logo we can see a few details about the show. First of all, the period at the end of “Ms.” is the logo of Captain Marvel herself. Of course, in the comics, Carol Danvers was once known as Ms. Marvel. However, once she became Captain Marvel, the name of Ms. Marvel was vacant for several years. It wasn’t until 2014 when Kamala Khan became the new Ms. Marvel—a name that Carol Danvers gave to Khan. Of course, the logo itself is a nod to the logo found in the comic books.
Ms. Marvel will hit Disney+ some time at a later date.
