Crunchyroll Expo is fast approaching and before you know it, it will be here. To get attendees and fans excited for the immersive anime conventions third year, Crunchyroll has unveiled an exclusive streetwear collection that will be made available during the convention.
Created by HUF designer Suede, the CRX destination line will include eight different tees, an enamel pin set, and a sticker. The line is inspired by the destinations that can be found at Crunchyroll Expo’s New Crunchy City. Some of the locations that have drawn the inspiration for the streetwear line will include the Crunchyroll Hime Maid Cafe featuring Crunchyroll Hime(CR Mascot), New Crunchy City Fireworks Co., and Ramen Bar, both that feature Yuzu, Hime’s trusted sidekick.
“This year’s Crunchyroll Expo collection is destination themed. I wanted our line to have an urban city feel to represent New Crunchy City, and the businesses our fans are going to interact with onsite. When our fans travel to another city, they might pick up a shirt or a memento from the places they visit – we want the Crunchyroll Expo experience to be the same; so that no matter where our fans travel afterward, they will always remember the excitement and camaraderie of CRX. We also worked closely with Suede from HUF to make sure our collection had the streetwear vibe we know our fans love.” said Kristin Parcell, the director of eCommerce at Crunchyroll.
Along with the CRX destination line, Crunchyroll will also feature an exclusive Junji Ito collection. This collection will be comprised of two long-sleeve tees, two short-sleeve tees, a hoodie, a hat, lanyards, and a sticker set, all featuring specially designed artwork by the horror manga maestro. In addition to the apparel, there will also be posters of commissioned art pieces (10” x 14.25”) that are ideal for Junji Ito to autograph. As well, there will be a Junji Ito skateboard by Creature Skateboards that will be sold on-site or at the online Crunchyroll Store and other skate industry retailers. However, the Junji Ito skateboard will not be part of the CRX-exclusive collection.
The Crunchyroll Expo will take place at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California during Labor Day weekend, August 30th to September 1st.
