Plot details are currently being kept under wraps on the project, but it’s believed that the film is focusing on a killer terrorizing a small town. While it’s believed the film is set to be an original film, there are rumors beginning to circle that the film could be a previously existing IP being kept under wraps.

After scripting the mixed reviewed crime drama Another Day in Paradise and panned Blood & Chocolate, Landon started finding success with co-writing the script for the critical and commercial hit thriller Disturbia, followed by writing the second through fourth installments of the Paranormal Activity franchise, as well as writing and directing the 2014 spin-off The Marked Ones and the zombie comedy Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse.

He found his largest success with the 2017 sleeper hit horror-comedy Happy Death Day, which earned very positive reviews from critics and audiences and grossed over $125 million at the global box office on a $4.5 million budget, which spawned a sequel that earned more mixed reviews from critics and audiences and grossed only half of the original’s theatrical run with a budget twice as large. While Landon originally intended for a third film to close out the trilogy, the lower box office returns led to Blum stating that a third film was not likely but not impossible, while Landon himself confirmed last month there is not a threequel in development.
