Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios have announced this week that DJ Dimitri Vegas will be playable in his Sub-Zero outfit in a free update coming on August 22, 2019. The DJ/actor has offered his likeness and voiceover, and it’ll be available for free for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
This isn’t the first time Vegas has teamed up with Netherrealm Studios. He produced a remix of the Mortal Kombat theme song for the Mortal Kombat 11 launch trailer in April. In addition, his original track, “You’re Next,” was featured in the Mortal Kombat 11 Gameplay Reveal Trailer in January.
Netherrealm Studios is pumping out new content including new DLC characters. Shang Tsung is already available now, and you get to play as his younger or older self. If you’re a fan of the 1995 Mortal Kombat film, you can choose that version of Shang Tsung complete with his black trenchcoat. Nightwolf and Sindel have been teased by co-creator Ed Boon.
Other DLC characters coming include Spawn and two mystery fighters. Those who have the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack will have access to skins, gear sets and a week early access to the content.
