Team behind X-Men: The Animated Series wants Disney to continue show

X-Men the animated series

Dark Phoenix is now in theaters, and critics have not been too kind on the Simon Kinberg-directed X-Men film. Audiences, however, have been enjoying it more since it has received a CinemaScore of B-. Even though the live-action X-Men films have been a hit and miss, there’s one X-Men project that will bring a lot of fond memories, and that’s X-Men: The Animated Series. Fans at Los Angeles Comic Con can look forward to the cast of the animated series on October 12th. To add more excitement, it looks like the team behind the series wants to continue the show on Disney.

The creative team behind X-Men: The Animated Series wants it to continue on, and they want to make it happen by planning a pitch for Disney. X-Men artist Larry Houston tells THR, “The one thing we’d like to do more than anything else is to continue where we left off.”

As for the X-Men voice actors appearing at LACC, attendees will get to see Cal Dodd (Wolverine), Lenore Zann (Rogue), George Buza (Beast), Chris Potter (Gambit) and Chris Britton (Mr. Sinister) together on stage for the first time.

The classic animated series premiered on October 31, 1992 on the Fox Kids network and ended its run on September 20, 1997. It had a total of 76 episodes and had a continuing story that engaged viewers about the struggles of being a mutant.

Fox and Disney have plans to release one more film in the X-Men universe with New Mutants. The film was supposed to be released this year, but it was pushed back to April 3, 2020.
