Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 10 Recap

People continue to disappear all over the city in the Cloak and Dagger Season 2 finale. Andre ascended before Tandy managed to kill him in the previous episode, and Andre’s trumpet can be heard by all who are without hope. Andre is no longer collecting records, he’s collecting people and using their despair to keep on playing.

The Doorway

Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 10 Recap

Though Ty is uncomfortable doing so, Tandy realizes that they need to go to Evita for help. Evita reads the cards and all she can see is a future of despair unless Ty and Tandy take the fight to Andre in the loa realm. Using a veve and Ty’s hoodie, Evita watches the doorway that Ty and Tandy use to travel into the loa dimension. Evita warns them that they have until the candle burns out (or is snuffed out) to handle their business and return, else they’ll be trapped in a realm without hope.

Mouses

Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 10 Recap

Brigid goes to Mina to have her run a full body scan. Though Brigid was able to bring her two selves back together, she feels less like she knows who she is and what she’s supposed to do than ever before. Mina confirms that Brigid’s brain function shows that there is a lot of hate, but also empathy and compassion. Mina relates how she is unsure of her own path after the accidents with Roxxon and the powerful energy forces. In reliving her despair, Mina disappears to the club as well.

Brigid heads to the church, where she protects Evita and the candle flame from the dark forces that Andre has sent to attack the doorway. During the fight, the forms solidify into policemen in riot gear. One takes the form of Fuchs, who blames Brigid for his death. Brigid, however, overcomes her own guilt and defeats the dark forces.

Tandy & Ty

Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 10 Recap

In the darkness, Tandy and Ty find the gas station at the crossroads smashed and abandoned. Tandy despairs that without the viewfinder they’ll never be able to travel to the mall and face Andre. Ty teaches Tandy how to build a veve using the loose coins from the smashed gas station register, telling her how much he believes in her and her ability to give hope to others. With that hope, the two travel to the mall, which is suffering from Andre’s corrupting presence.

The two make their way to the club, where Andre uses his trumpet to send each into their own heads to face their greatest fears. Tandy must face her father, who tries to beat her like he beat Melissa. Ty faces a version of himself that gives voice to all of Ty’s disappointments and fears. Using the sound of their voices, Ty and Tandy work through their mindscapes to find one another again in the darkness. When the embodiment of their fears follow, the two trade partners, with each taking on the other’s issues.

Tandy and Ty fight the despairs, each talking about how the other has gone through so much and come out the other side a hero. In doing so, each defeats the fears of the other. Andre intervenes, separating Ty and Tandy again and locking them away with their own issues one more time. Now, after dealing with the fears of the other, each is equipped to deal with his or her own despair.

Back in the club, Tandy throws her daggers into her mother, Mina, and the abducted woman from the motel, waking them from their despair and giving each the hope to fight back. Ty snatches Andre’s trumpet and hides Tandy inside himself until she leaps out, pulling out a sword of light, and stabbing Andre with it while the freed women hold him.

What’s Next?

Cloak and Dagger Season 2 Episode 10 Recap

The abducted people return. Mina is back in her lab, working with her mice with newfound enthusiasm based on Brigid’s ability to connect her two selves. Brigid leaves Connors’s corpse hanging in the NOPD gun range with a note reading “Guilty” taped to him. The Johnsons watch on the news as Connors’s uncle is arrested for corruption, paving the way for Ty to be cleared. Father Delgado, who gave the incriminating information to the press, is cleaning up and putting his life back together. The changes that Ty demanded from the street gangs are taking place. Lia is on a prison chain gang, picking up litter on the streets, including the missing women posters.

Brigid has given Tandy information on more missing women washing up dead on the beach in another city. She and Ty get on a bus and leave, wondering if they can be heroes.
