TheWrap brings word that the espionage action-comedy Whiskey Cavalier, starring The Walking Dead’s Lauren Cohan, may be brought back from its very recent cancellation as ABC and Warner Bros. are in talks to potentially reverse the network’s decision to end the series with one season.

When the show was canceled by the network, Warner Bros. had planned to shop the series elsewhere. The outlet notes that ABC is considering a second season of the series, with conversations ongoing. A decision on the show’s fate is expected to come possibly within the next week or two.

The series followed the adventures of secret agents Will Chase, played by Scott Foley (Scandal), and Frankie Trowbridge, played by Cohan, as they lead an inter-agency team of flawed, funny and heroic spies who periodically save the world. This was the series that Cohen elected to leave her long-running role as Maggie on The Walking Dead, though it’s possible for her character to return to the AMC series eventually.

Together, Will and Frankie lead an inter-agency team of flawed, funny and heroic spies who every so often save the world – and each other – while navigating the rocky roads of friendship, romance and office politics. Whiskey Cavalier also stars Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty) as Susan Sampson, Tyler James Williams (Dear White People) as Edgar Standish and Vir Das (Son of Abish) as Jai Datta.

The pilot script for Whiskey Cavalier was written by creator Dave Hemingson, who also serves as executive producer with Bill Lawrence, Jeff Ingold and Peter Atencio from Doozer Productions. The series helms from Warner Bros. Television and Atencio directed the pilot, with Foley also producing.
