Just like Game of Thrones, people have been very sensitive to spoilers for Avengers: Endgame. Many have been promoting the #DontSpoilTheEndgame to help fans get the full experience of the Marvel Studios film. Last week we had the Russo brothers lifting the spoiler ban, which is effective today. How fitting since Sony Pictures has dropped a new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home. It does contain heavy spoilers from the events of Avengers: Endgame, so you may want to turn away if you’re not caught up.
A new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home has dropped, and it already contains spoilers from Avengers: Endgame. There’s even an intro message from Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man, warning viewers about the spoilers.
Spoilers for Avengers: Endgame Ahead
In Avengers: Endgame, Tony Stark sacrifices his life to save the Earth from the wrath of Thanos and his army. The new Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer shows Peter Parker and Happy Hogan coping with Tony’s death. With Iron Man gone and the other Marvel heroes away, it’s up to Peter Parker to save the day. However, he’ll have the help from Quentin Beck, aka Mysterio.
The trailer explains that due to Thanos’ snap, it created a multiverse. We now know that Quentin is part of another universe, and he is somehow here in our world to help fight villains like Molten Man and Hydro-Man. It’s definitely a departure from his original comic book origin where Mysterio is a failed Hollywood talent who uses illusions to commit crimes.
There are many questions as to Mysterio’s motives. Is he really a superhero? Is he going to turn into a villain? Are Molten Man and Hydro-Man illusions, or are they actual threats? We’ll find out once the movie comes out in a few months.
Spider-Man: Far From Home swings into theaters on July 2, 2019.
