Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, and Elisabeth Moss join forces to become crime bosses in The Kitchen, the upcoming film set in 1978 Hell’s Kitchen. Warner Bros. has released the trailer for the film, and the three ladies are up to no good as they take matters into their own hands after their mobster husbands are arrested. In addition to the trailer is the release of the one-sheet poster, which you can check out below.
Synopsis: The Kitchen stars Oscar nominee Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids), Tiffany Haddish (Girls Trip), and Elisabeth Moss (Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale) as three 1978 Hell’s Kitchen housewives whose mobster husbands are sent to prison by the FBI. Left with little but a sharp ax to grind, the ladies take the Irish mafia’s matters into their own hands—proving unexpectedly adept at everything from running the rackets to taking out the competition…literally.
The film is directed and written by Andrea Berloff, the co-screenwriter for Straight Outta Compton. It’s based on the DC Vertigo comic book series by Ollie Masters and Ming Doyle. It also stars Domhnall Gleeson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi), James Badge Dale (Iron Man 3), Brian d’Arcy James (Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why), Margo Martindale (FX’s “The Americans”), Common (John Wick: Chapter 2), Bill Camp (HBO’s “The Leftovers”), Jeremy Bobb (Marshall), E.J. Bonilla (TV’s “The Long Road Home”), Wayne Duvall (Prisoners), Annabella Sciorra (Netflix’s “Daredevil”), Myk Watford (HBO’s “True Detective”).
The Kitchen hits theaters on August 9, 2019.
