Close is a seven-time Academy Award nominee, best known for many critically-acclaimed roles including The World According to Garp (1983), The Big Chill (1984), The Natural (1985), Fatal Attraction (1988), Dangerous Liaisons (1989), Albert Noobs (2012) and most recently, The Wife (2017) which earned her a Golden Globe award, a SAG Award and a Critics’ Choice award for Best Actress.

Kunis received her first Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as Lily in Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan opposite Oscar winner Natalie Portman. She also gained recognition through her roles in comedy films such as: Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Date Night, Friends with Benefits, Ted, Bad Moms and The Spy Who Dumped Me.

Based on Pulitzer Prize winner Eli Saslow’s Washington Post article, Four Good Days is being described as a hard-hitting substance abuse story that will follow the story of Deb (Close), a mother helping her daughter Molly (Kunis) work through four crucial days on Molly’s road to recovery from substance abuse. Their time together after a long estrangement revives both the painful wounds they have inflicted on each other, but also offers the opportunity to rekindle their fundamental, complicated, love for one another.

The film’s script is written by Saslow along with Garcia, who will also served as a producer through his Indigenous Media banner. Marina Grasic and Jai Khanna of Oakhurst Entertainment are set as producers along with Jon Avnet and Jake Avnet of Indigenous Media (Lonely Doll). Capstone (Whiplash, Come Away) will handle the film’s international sales with Productivity Media (The Little Hours, Stockholm) and Oakhurst committing to finance the project. The film will be executive produced by Productivity and Capstone.

Principal photography is scheduled to begin in September in Los Angeles.
