The Walking Dead is a huge show for AMC, and it has spawned the Fear the Walking Dead spinoff series. The franchise created by Robert Kirkman isn’t going anywhere since the network is working on another spinoff show that will feature a younger generation. In the world of video games, it’s teamed up with video game developer Survios to work on The Walking Dead Onslaught, the upcoming VR game where you will face the horde of the dead.
Check out the announcement trailer below.
Survios has worked on VR games, with each title immersing you into its respective worlds thanks to the VR tech and motion control technology, Raw Data had you feeling like an action hero, Electronauts made you feel like the ultimate DJ, and Creed: Rise to Glory turned you into a boxer. With The Walking Dead Onslaught, you can bet the studio will deliver on an experience that will have you tackling the undead with real motion melee and ranged combat.
The VR game will feature a new narrative campaign, real-motion combat, melee and player progression with 48 weapon perks. You’ll be able to play your favorite survivor as you mess around with a new tech called “progressive dismemberment” and realistic grappling.
Expect to hear more information about the game during E3 including gameplay. I’m just waiting to see if characters like Glenn, Daryl, Michonne and Rick will be playable.
The game will be available for home VR setups in the fall of 2019 with arcades getting a later date.
