Nisha Ganatra, who made a huge impression with the comedy Late Night at the Sundance Film Festival, is directing the pic from a screenplay by Flora Greeson. Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will serve as producers, while executive producer duties will be held by Alexandra Loewy.

Johnson is best known for her turn in the Fifty Shades of Grey trilogy, which wrapped up last year with Fifty Shades Freed, but has appeared in a number of high-profile pics including Bad Times at the El Royale, Suspiria and The Social Network. Next on the docket are the horror film Wounds and the adventure film The Peanut Butter Falcon.

Ross has enjoyed much success on ABC’s hit sitcom Black-ish, where she plays Dr. Rainbow “Bow” Johnson — a role that already netted her a Golden Globe for best actress in a comedy series. Covers marks her first appearance on the big screen since 2007’s Daddy’s Little Girls.
