Even before the film’s theatrical release, Captain Marvel was at the center of controversy due to Brie Larson’s comments about white men. This resulted in upset fans giving negative comments on Rotten Tomatoes, and the aggregated review site made some changes to prevent that from happening. The movie was then released and made over $1 billion at the box office worldwide. Captain Marvel is coming soon to Blu-ray and DVD, and Marvel Studios has released a deleted scene to help promote the upcoming home release. It has been met with backlash from the critics since it contained a scene where Captain Marvel threatens a biker.
The scene is an extended scene where Captain Marvel lands on Earth in the 1990s and reads a map to figure out where she is. A biker shows up and tries to get her attention. When he didn’t get the reply he wanted, he asks, “What, no smile?” Captain Marvel then offers for a handshake, only to show off her superhuman strength. She then threatens the biker that he’d lose his hand if he didn’t give her his bike.

The deleted scene was met with backlash from upset fans, saying that she is acting like a villain.
Captain Marvel tortures a Man, steals his motorcycle. Yikes. Movie Scenes like this will definitely not help feminists causes. The Man's crime, he asked a Woman to smile. Just imagine if a Man treated a Woman like this in our society. https://t.co/5e4vcp1dqC

I would like to take time out and discuss the #CaptainMarvel deleted (first) scene, where she breaks a man's hand and steals his jacket and motorcycle. Not only does it make her an asshole, but Carol Danvers DID NOT need that motorcycle…SHE CAN FLY. Those writers are idiots! pic.twitter.com/eziVNZPw35

So #CaptainMarvel is a "noble warrior hero" but in a deleted scene she goes full "kneel before Zod" on some idiot. In writing we call that "out of character moment."
And you can't draw "similarities" to Superman 2, T2 or Rocket Racoon. Different contexts/characters. #writing pic.twitter.com/sA0FN8uDlx

I truly want to give @brielarson the benefit of the doubt with the whole Captain Marvel SJW stuff. However, the deleted scenes are not helping with that. Why do the people write SJW characters as supervillains unintentionally??? At least they made her character useful in endgame.

It is a deleted extended version of the scene but they still marketed the whole movie as "man bad, woman good". And this extended scene doesn't help. It only adds "it's okay to hurt the bad man".

The actor who played the biker had something to say about the backlash.
I’m caught in the mentions of men who hate Cpt Marvel, and oh my god…. pic.twitter.com/7rAUOgoz4f

With the backlash, there are those defending the deleted scene.

Funny all the negative comments come from insecure wee boys – seeing a theme with pathetic insecure wee boys in much of social media.

Fanboys are flipping their shit at a deleted scene where Captain marvel stole a dudes jacket and bike that was telling her to smile and shit. But like didn’t ant man start a movie robbing someone? And gaurdians of the galaxy were bad guys originally? And she was in a “new” place?

Why is anyone upset about #CaptainMarvel deleted scene? Unless they're upset by ALL violence they have no ground to stand on.
She wasn't even Captain Marvel by that point in the movie anyway.
Bunch of whiny jerks.

The deleted scene from Captain Marvel where she shows up the dude who tells her to smile is everywhere, but all I ever see is weak ass little boys complaining about her. I’m literally so sick of all these closed-minded “men”, please get over yourself.
