Spider-Man: Far From Home Funko Pops to feature Mysterio and other villains

Spider-Man Far From Home Funko Pops Mysterio Helmet

Spider-Man: Far From Home is coming to theaters this July, and those who saw the trailer know that Jake Gyllenhaal will be portraying Mysterio, the latest villain for the wall-crawler. The trailer also had elementals that included a giant water creature and another made of lava. Many have speculated that we could be seeing Hydro-Man and Molten Man, but with the appearance of Mysterio, the elementals could have been an illusion. Well, Funko Pop has announced the next wave of figures for Spider-Man: Far From Home, and collectors will get the chance to own Mysterio, Hydro-Man and Molten Man.

First up is the Glow in the Dark Pop! Mysterio figure, which is a Walmart exclusive (see above). Not only can he glow in the dark, but he also has his helmet complete with a cloudy interior. Mysterio could be seen as a hokey character when translated to the big screen, but it looks like the filmmakers are embracing the comic book source by giving him a dome helmet and cape.

We also have the unmasked version of Mysterio to show off Gyllenhaal’s lovely beard, which is a Hot Topic exclusive.

Of course, fans are curious about the other Funko Pop Spider-Man: Far From Home villains, and they are Hydro-Man and Molten Man. Could these villains be an illusion created by Mysterio? Or are they actually villains inspired from the comic books? We’ll find out once the movie comes out, but in the meantime, you can check out the figures below.

We have Hydro-Man above, who can glow in the dark and is a Barnes and Noble exclusive. In the comics, Morris “Morrie” Bench gained the power to manipulate water due to an experimental generator testing the waters. Spider-Man accidentally knocked him off a cargo ship and into the ocean where it was being tested.

The Molten Man Pop is a Gamestop exclusive. In the comics, Mark Raxton got his powers from spilling an experimental liquid alloy all over his body, giving him the power to generate heat.

Will the film cover all of this? Maybe there will be a laboratory scene involving both Mark and Morris. Or maybe Mysterio just wants to mess with Spider-Man’s head. There are no specific dates revealed, but the figures are coming soon.

Jon Watts, who directed Spider-Man: Homecoming, returns for the sequel. The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Zendays as MJ, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Marisa Tomei as May Parker, Jacob Batalon as Ned, and Jake Gyllenhaal as Quentin Beck/Mysterio.

Spider-Man: Far From Home swings into theaters on July 5, 2019.
