Fyre Festival was a music festival in a “luxury” island from Ja Rule and Billy McFarland that promised guests a lot of things like hot artists, extravagant lodging, and fancy food. The reality is something else entirely, and the folks over at Nerdist decided to remix both the Netflix Fyre Festival documentary and Jurassic Park together. In this version, John Hammond, the genius behind Jurassic Park, is exposed as a fraud. Instead of flying people out to a park filled with awe and wonder, visitors instead are met with hungry dinosaurs ready to devour them.
Throughout the mashup trailer are dialogue from Fyre and Jurassic Park that paint John Hammond as a con artist. The video is really creative as scenes transition from Fyre footage to Jurassic Park footage. For example, one shot has bikini-clad girls diving into the waters, only to be swooped up by a Pteranodon. The viral photo tweet of the lackluster cheese and bread was replaced by green Jell-O, made popular by the scene with Lex and a velociraptor.
Jurassic Park entrepreneur John Hammond told the world he was bringing us the next big amusement park, what he gave the world was nothing short of FRAUD! It’s everything you loved about the Fyre Festival scandal mashed up with DINOSAURS in this Nerdist Remix!
Jurassic Fraud is edited by Matt Caron with graphics by Charles Shattuck and Steven Gong.
FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened: The Fyre Festival was billed as a luxury music experience on a posh private island, but it failed spectacularly in the hands of a cocky entrepreneur.
A new Jurassic World film is in the works with Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World) as the director and writer with Emily Carmichael joining as the screenwriter.
The untitled Jurassic World 3 film is scheduled to hit theaters on June 11, 2021.
