CBS Orders Cop Series Based on Frankenstein

CBS orders cop series based on Frankenstein

Light your torches and sharpen your pitchforks, because Frankenstein is back, sort of. According to TVLine, CBS has ordered three Thursday night pilots, including a modern take on the classic Mary Shelley gothic novel Frankenstein. The show won’t Igor or medieval castles but will focus on a cop who is killed in the line of duty, and is brought back to life by one Dr. Victor Frankenstein.

Burn Notice scribe Jason Tracey will write the script for the pilot and serve as executive producer alongside Elementary showrunner Rob Doherty.

The other two pilots ordered by CBS include:

Republic of Sarah, the story of a small New Hampshire town that demands to be recognized as an Independent nation after the discovery of a valuable resource on its lands. The show will focus on the townsfolk as they attempt to lead their newly established nation. Jeffrey Paul King (Elementary) will pen the pilot and serve as an executive producer.

And Courthouse, a drama that “pulls back the curtain on the court system and follows the dedicated, chaotic, hopeful and sometimes absurd lives of the judges, assistant district attorneys and public defenders as they work with bailiffs, clerks, cops and jurors to bring justice to the people of Los Angeles.”
