Seth Rogen has released a new trailer for The Boys, an Amazon Prime series based on the comic book of the same name by writer Garth Ennis and artist Darick Robertson. Rogen is a fan of Ennis’ work since he also helped develop Preacher under AMC.
The new trailer features the song “I’m Gonna Do My Thing” from Royal Deluxe and gives us another glimpse of the story between superheroes and a group of vigilantes aimed at keeping them in check.
In his tweet, Rogen says, “Based on one of my favorite comics of all time, I’m proud to have helped bring The Boys to life. Here’s a taste of our new show, coming to Amazon this year.”

Synopsis: The Boys centers on a group of vigilantes known informally as “the boys,” who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty. [It’s] a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes – who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods – abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and Vought – the multi-billion dollar conglomerate that manages these superheroes.
The show is being executive produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who are both the executive producers for AMC’s Preacher and Hulu’s Future Man. They are joined by Eric Kripke, the creator of Supernatural.
The series stars Karl Urban, Jennifer Esposito, Jack Quaid, Elisabeth Shue, Simon Pegg, Laz Alonso, Tomer Kapon, and Karen Fukuhara.
The Seven is the supreme superhero team in the world of The Boys, and they include Antony Starr as The Homelander, Dominique McElligott as Queen Maeve, who’s modeled, Jessie Usher as A-Train, Nathan Mitchell as Black Noir, Chace Crawford as The Deep, and Erin Moriarty as Starlight.
The Boys premiers on Amazon Prime Video in Summer 2019.
