Camping Season 1 Episode 7 Recap
In the previous episode HBO’s Camping, Walt and Kathryn searched for Carleen. In Camping season 1 episode 7, Kathryn threw Walt his birthday party while Carleen was still missing.
Festive Garb
No one was in the mood for Walt’s party because they hadn’t found Carleen. For some reason, Kathryn aggressively kissed Jandice. They didn’t want to do what Kathryn had planned, like a talent show, so she sarcastically suggested they do some of Jandice’s drugs. Jandice offered the group some of the MDMA she had been saving. Kathryn surprisingly agreed, and the entire group partook.
Kathryn made up with Nina-Joy. She explained that she was jealous that Nina-Joy was enjoying having sex, so she spilled the beans about her affair with Braylen. Nina-Joy reasoned that they had something in common; both of them didn’t want to have sex with their husbands. Unfortunately, Kathryn told Walt about this as the two were kissing at the end of the night.
Rage
George hadn’t forgotten that Nina-Joy had given him permission to have sex with someone else that night. He tried hitting on Jandice in front of Miguel, but she rejected him.
As Nina-Joy and Kathryn were outside smoking a cigarette, Carleen showed up on the back of someone’s Vespa. It was Braylen, who had come to get Nina-Joy back. George threatened him, and Nina-Joy decided she was done with their relationship. She took Braylen back to her tent. George focused his sights on Carleen, who rejected him as well.
Geriatric Rave
Joe missed Carleen, but after taking the Ecstasy, he hit on Jandice, who flirted back. Unfortunately, Carleen entered the barn then. Carleen told Joe they were over since he still couldn’t stay away from drugs. Jandice offered her some drugs too, and she accepted.
Carleen insisted on doing her talent for Walt. She sang the Cup Song but replaced words with “Walt”. As the party wound down, Carleen and Kathryn danced together, but it soon spiraled into a food fight with Walt’s cake. They argued, with Kathryn frustrated at Carleen’s meekness and Carleen upset about how abusive she was. Carleen told Kathryn that she moved to Arizona to get away from her.
Clenched Beauty
While the adults partied, Harry looked after Orvis. They watched Body Heat, and Harry taught him that nudity was naturally beautiful. Meanwhile, Sol invited Tyler to the campground. They went into her tent and kissed.
