Fashion in today’s streetwear culture heavily relies on collaborations. Brands will often collaborate with other brands to create limited edition pieces that are highly coveted by its fans. In recent years footwear maker Adidas has collaborated with some of the biggest names in fashion, music, and pop culture, and it looks like they won’t be slowing down anytime soon with its recent collaboration with Beavis and Butt-Head.
Beavis and Butt-Head was an animated series created by Mike Judge that ran for eight seasons on MTV. The show followed the titular characters Beavis and Butt-Head who were two undereducated, dimwitted high school students who held no morals. Their entire M.O. was based on sex, violence, destruction, and heavy metal, and it was that which made Beavis and Butt-Head a favorite amongst teenagers at the time.
Adidas x Beavis and Butt-Head collection includes one pair of shoes and five pieces of apparel. The shoes are based on the Adidas 3MC shoe, which combines a minimal aesthetic and everyday fit and feel. The shoe, which is inspired by the two slackers, will feature an allover print on the upper which is made from canvas. The geoflex sole offers the wearer excellent grip, board feel, and flexibility.
The apparel will include several t-shirts along with a jacket and pullover hoodie, with each one brandishing graphics highlighting key features from the TV show. The jacket is made from lightweight, woven material with a full zip and front pockets. The graphic on the back will show Beavis and Butt-Head in their famous burger world uniforms. The hoodie is made from a soft, warm fleece blend, with a kangaroo pocket, adjustable hood, and a graphic on the front.
The Adidas X Beavis and Butt-Head collaboration shows that Adidas continues to showcase the insight it has in creating brands that speak to an entire generation. Taking cultural icons and implementing them in their shoes and apparel will make these favorable characters much more memorable.
The Adidas x Beavis and Butt-Head is available now on Adidas.com and has a price range of $30 to $70.
