Catch Ninja, Shroud, Summit, & Timthetatman play Call of Duty Blackout this Friday

call of duty black ops iv blackout

PS4 players who have pre-ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 currently have access to playing its battle royale mode, Blackout. Soon PC players will get to dive in with the Beta, which will be available for anyone with a Battle.net account starting at 10:00 a.m. PT on September 15. However, Early Access is available at 10:00 a.m. PT on September 14 for those who pre-ordered on Battle.net. And if you didn’t pre-order, there’s another way to play Early Access by watching streamers play Blackout on Friday, September 14th. Simply view Ninja, Shroud, Summit1G or TimTheTatman‘s twitch.tv stream for one hour from 10 am PST to 2 pm PST.

Yes, you’ll have to watch at least an hour to get access and link your Battle.net and Twitch.tv accounts together before watching the streams.

The beta will end on September 17 at 10 a.m. PT for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

We’ve had the chance to play the Private Beta of Blackout on the PlayStation 4, and so far the Nerd Reactor team have been enjoying it immensely. Since our preference for a shooter is in first-person, it completely changed the immersion factor. Other battle royale games would have a third-person view and then switch to first-person when aiming, but that doesn’t offer us the best transition when it comes to aiming and shooting at enemies.

I like being stealthy, and with the game being all in first-person, it makes it easier for a player to ambush another player. You can go prone and hide underneath certain buildings. You can also make yourself less visible by going prone on grass. (Sometimes it doesn’t work.) With the Call of Duty controls, the movements are quick and responsive, and you’ll be able to hop over small walls and jump through windows like a ninja. The addition of areas filled with zombies adds another flavor, and these areas can get your heart pumping.

The total players in a match are now up to 88 players, and the objective is to be the last man or team standing. There are many areas on the map, and you’ll be diving in without weapons. The key is to find a weapon as soon as possible, and then you can worry about getting attachments, armor and backpacks. Certain areas will have better weapons, and that’s usually the Firing Range, areas with zombies, and areas with the blue beam of light. Of course, you can wait for air supply drops, but be on the lookout as enemy players can wait and ambush you.

If you already like the Call of Duty controls in Black Ops 4’s beta and have been enjoying the battle royale games, then this game should be right up your alley.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on October 12, 2018.
