The Innocents Season 1 Episode 5 Recap
In the previous episode of Netflix’s The Innocents, Harry and June run away from John, while Runa regressed and entered shift state. The Innocents Season 1 Episode began with Halvorson making progress with Elena and Harry interviewing for a job.
Passionate Amateur
June and Harry were staying at a hostel. June seemed to be making friends with the people who stayed there. Unfortunately, June saw the video of her at the club posted on a streaming site. It scared her, but she contacted the person who commented that they could help her.
When they met the mysterious commenter, he turned out to be a woman, Kam, who shifted into her boyfriend Andrew. She studied myths about shifters like berserkers and was a shifter similar to June, since they could both sense the subject’s feelings. Kam offered the couple a place to stay while June learned more about what she was.
“Love Is Your Trigger”
Halvorson would be gone for two days to bring June to Sanctum. Runa was uneasy about his absence, since she shifted for the first time in a while. Sigrid postponed moving away from Sanctum, promising that she would look after Runa.
Sigrid called June and persuaded Elena to speak with her. Halvorson hoped she would be more trusting of him than with Steinar. Elena refused at first, since the love she felt for her children triggered her shift. She was able to hold on for the phone call, and June said she would wait for Halvorson.
Not Strangers
While analyzing the hospital footage, Christine noticed June’s reflection while she was Deborah. She went back to footage of Lewis during the Pennines Five incident and noticed Elena’s reflection. Christine brought him in for drunk driving and confronted John about his wife’s involvement. He denied it, and Christine’s boss felt she had gone too far and let him leave.
Back at his farm, John told Ryan the truth about Elena. Ryan recounted growing up with his mother and having strangers look after him occasionally. He sensed even then that the strangers weren’t strangers; they were actually Elena.
Tribus
Kam and Andrew took Harry and June to Tribus, an exclusive party scene and sex club. She separated June from Harry and brought her to a private room with a male dancer. Kam urged June to touch him. Harry burst in and hit the dancer, and they threw him out of the club.
When June woke up the next morning, Harry seemed to be initiating sex. But a glance in the mirror told June that it was Kam on top of her in Harry’s form. Kam told June that Harry secretly thought sex with her was a disappointment. June shoved her off and found Harry in a trance in a closet. Andrew made Kam shift back, freeing Harry from the trance. He was fine afterwards with no memory of what happened to him.
Too Much
Harry and June left Kam’s place in a hurry. June said she needed to go back because she left her phone. She told Harry about Halvorson’s call and her conversation with her mother. Harry demanded to know if it had been June who shifted into him, and she refused to answer. The two parted ways after she told him to go home.
