It’s been a long, long, LONG 14 years since we’ve seen the Parr family in action. Yes, 2004 was the year that The Incredibles came out. In that time, we’ve had 18 Marvel Studios films, 4 DC Extended Universe films, and 8 X-Men films. Not to mention, there was that one really bad Fantastic Four film. However, the film that should’ve been a Fantastic Four film is finally getting a sequel. During the Olympics, Disney/Pixar released the brand new Incredibles 2 trailer for everyone to enjoy. Check it out!
From the get-go, it seems like the opposite of The Incredibles. Instead of Bob doing Super duties, it’s Helen. Also, Bob’s now in charge of the kids instead of Helen. There’s also an organization that requires the services of one of the Parrs. Hopefully, it’s not the same film as The Hangover and The Hangover 2 was. Mostly because we know how that turned out. But with Brad Bird back in the director’s chair, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. After all, Bird gave us The Iron Giant, The Incredibles, and Ratatouille.
As for the trailer, the funniest thing about the trailer is seeing Bob cluelessly take care of the kids, especially Jack-Jack. As we’ve seen from “Jack-Jack Attack”, Jack-Jack has powers now. Thus, seeing Bob (and Frozone) try to handle Jack-Jack is really, really funny. Hopefully, Incredibles 2 lives up to the long wait.

In “Incredibles 2,” Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose superpowers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.
Incredibles 2 saves theaters on June 15th.
